2018 begins with common climatic progress. The weather was ideal with winter rains at the beginning of the year which ensured the water reserve needed for the vegetation development. Average epoch for the budding and flowering. The high temperatures and thunderstorms during Summer accelerated the vegetative development ensuring good yields. Between September and October, and close to harvest’s time, there were some scorching peaks in temperatures along with sirocco winds that dried and concentrated the grapes. However, 2018 remains a fine vintage where the excellent ripeness characterised the Sagrantino where the acidity is well accorded with the sugars. The wine has an exquisite intensity of color and, in the nose, there is an exaltation of aromas with enveloping hints of fruit. The Sagrantino of 2018 is sapid, with a long persistence and with deep tannins.
